The CCP Music Division, in cooperation with the Italian Embassy, is holding a lecture-demonstration by Italian singer-songwriter and guitarist Eugenio Bennato, on Italian folk music and dance, particularly the different types of tarantella rhythms on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Cultural Center of the Philippines' Little Theater. Mr. Bennato is the founder of the movement called TARANTA POWER, a movement dedicated to the revival of the tarantella, the thousand year old ritual dance from the South of Italy, currently enjoying great success among the young people in Italy.
