Multi-Award winning film actress Dawn Zulueta will play the iconic role of Desiree Armfeldt in Atlantis Productions` staging of Stephen Sondheim`s classic A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, which won 6 Tony Awards including Best Musical. It features the popular song "Send in the Clowns." It was recently revived in Broadway starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury. This was also made into film starring Elizabeth Taylor.
Dawn Zulueta returns to the musical theater stage after 12 years. Her last portrayal was as Elsa Montes in Larawan.

I never realized Dawn Zulueta could actually sing and carry a tune... very gifted woman who also has the discipline to go back to a slender figure after a few months of giving birth!
ReplyDeleteMy favorites in the play were Nonie Buencamino (Fredrik Egerman) and Cris Villonco (Anne Egerman)... superb acting! I felt they were really the characters they were playing. Though Dawn Zulueta's daughter in the play, Fredrika Armfeldt, needs a lot of improvement.
I love the songs, especially Dawn Zulueta's rendition of "Send in the Clowns." It was truly heartfelt =)
Beforehand, I really had no intention to watch this play because I'm not really a Dawn Zulueta fan. However, my friend Michael Mendoza had a ticket to spare and invited me to come join him and his friends. If not for Michael, I would have missed an entertaining and funny play with lots of great songs, twists and turns, and witty remarks. Thanks Michael! See you 'til the next play =)
