Jose Rizal’s prototypal first Filipino in Crisostomo Ibarra, is buffeted by the cruel winds of his fate and yet strives to remain standing tall in his ideals. His romance with Maria Clara is danced in a new production that strips bare the epic story and enters the psychological world of Noli’s protagonist. History meets ballet in this contemporary re-telling of the novel that shaped a nation.
