2010 HANDS-ON CHORAL WORKSHOP

The Hands-on Choral Workshop is an intensive and annual choral clinic open to amateur choirs and choir conductors to develop their skills in choral singing, conducting, and performance. It is a highly regarded workshop that has produced winners in local and international choral competitions. Workshop trainors are current members and alumni of the world acclaimed Philippine Madrigal Singers, two-time winner of the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing. The workshop includes individual choir performances and participation in the Culminating Concert.

MODULE

I. Vocal Technique and Sectional Rehearsal for Common Songs
Vocal warm-ups and techniques for the different voices of the choirs and conductors

II. Conducting Techniques/Special Session for Conductors
Lectures and techniques focusing on the practical side of conducting. Conductors will be given the opportunity to observe choirs in their rehearsals.

III. Note Reading
Classes in note reading and sight-singing for beginners and non-beginners

IV. Individual Choir Rehearsals
Special coaching sessions for conductors and individual choirs

VI. Plenary Session
Rehearsal of common songs for the culminating concert

VII. Individual choir performances
Choir performances in a 15-20 minute program at the Cultural Center of the Philippines Main Theater Lobby

VIII. Culminating Program
Performances of the choirs in the culminating program in the Main Theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines


FEES

Choir and conductor P 15,000.00 (P600.00 for every additional participant in excess of 20 pax)
Individual conductor P 4,000.00

Note: Slots are limited, so we highly encourage you to reserve a slot by paying One Thousand Pesos (P1,000.00), which is non-refundable, but will be deducted from your workshop fee.
